get it?

December 27th, just a few days after arriving back in KS, we formally dedicated Ruth to God at our home church.

For those of you moms, I think you'll pick up on this right away. So the last day of RFIS school we brought Ruth to school wearing a t-shirt that said, "I'm the BIG sister." We didn't get a picture, though, because Ruth was feeling poorly with a cold all day.

We had numerous kids read her shirt aloud throughout the day, and walk on by, or say "Oh, that's cute!" I guess they were thinking, "Oh, she thinks she's big now" or something.

Even quite a few teachers were too distracted (by the last day activities) to think about the meaning, except for those who were already moms. THEY knew there was no way in the world you would dress your kid in a shirt like that unless it was true... So a few people found out we were expecting, and the rest will get the news secondhand eventually, or figure it out when we head back to Cameroun after our family visit here in KS.

And then I was too vague on fb, too, I guess. The only people who 'got' the news were people who already knew, when I said that we'd gotten all moved in to the new apt, set up Ruth's crib, but that we wouldn't need the pack-n-play until late June.

So then I couldn't figure out a graceful way to "re-announce" - so here's the official news for those of you who aren't on fb or didn't get it. We are excited. Late June.
On our flights back Karl joked about how my seat was quite a deal - three for the price of one!

  4. P.S. You should post as your status that you really feel like pickles and ice cream. Or something more cryptic like you sure feel tired all the time, and folks will think they're clever when they ask and are right when really they're way behind the times! Muahahahaha! *evil laugh*
