We had very short trip away to Mbingo - got to hike and play a few games. It was good to be somewhere quiet, with time to eat breakfast together.
In the past few days, Ruth has been following me whenever I go anywhere in the house. She likes to go outside but will stand at the door, hoping to convince me to come outside or maybe scared of being too far away. Unless there's something off-limits - she can be lured quite a distance, in a very timely fashion. And then it's me trying to keep up following her.
The Psalmist says, "Surely goodness and mercy will follow me." Surely - no matter what - God's goodness, and God's mercy will be following me, trying to catch up to me, pursuing me, dogging my steps. His goodness is everlasting - not just for now, but for the time in the future when we're not sure how we'll make ends meet or keep from being isolated or where we'll live. He has compassion on us as a father has compassion on his children.

That little doll steals my heart! Thanks for the reminder about God's goodness pursuing us! Hard to imagine we can't wander too far that He still finds us and comes for us!
