Ruth has enjoyed playing with the two girls in our compound, aged 4 and 2 1/2. They also have a new baby that she finds interesting. Unfortunately we're still working on the whole 'don't just go play on other people's porches or in their living rooms without knocking/asking mom for permission.'

The picture also shows Ruth's crib/toddler bed that she can enter and exit by herself. It was locally made by a wonderful woodworker (we got it from another missionary) and actually can come apart for storage. We'll plan on using a pack'n'play for the new baby, as we did for Ruth's first year.

Also in our news, we're confused and disappointed by the end of the hunting season; evidently now the plan is that Karl will not be going out on the last two hunts. At least that means he's more likely to be in town when the new baby is born (June 26?). Communication with Karl's boss has been difficult and sparse. We'll talk more with him in a couple of weeks and hopefully get more clarification then. Until then - it does mean we'll have more time to help with RFIS.

  1. Sorry to hear about the hunting, but very glad that Karl might be around when your next baby arrives! Fun that Ruth has some friends and you too. thanks for posting! I'll be praying for you especially in these last weeks of pregnancy.

  2. Yes what a bummer for Karl!! Maybe it is an answer to prayer and his next hunting job will be a much better fit. Like you said though now he gets to do labor with you!!! Can't wait for the next BIG news! Hopefully he/she will be smaller than Ruth was. :-)
